Bobcaygeon 2018 Awards - 4 Blooms
 and Special Mention for Community Involvement

The Village of Bobcaygeon received a rating of 4 Blooms and a special mention for Community Involvement from Communities in Bloom Ontario. Martin Quinn, Chair of Ontario Communities in Bloom presented the awards on Saturday, October 6th, 2018.

Bobcaygeon also received Criteria Awards for:

Environmental - which was sponsored by Scott’s Canada
Floral - which was sponsored by Home Hardware

In July and August, trained volunteer judges Kathy Smyth and Joyce Nieuwkoop travelled to Bobcaygeon to evaluate the overall contributions of municipal council and departments; industry; businesses and the private sector – including volunteer efforts – in regards to the following criteria: Tidiness, Environmental Action, Heritage Conservation, Urban Forestry & Trails, Landscape and Floral Displays.

Within the actual context of climate changes and environmental concerns, communities involved in the program can be proud of their efforts, which provide real and meaningful environmental solutions and benefit all of society.
